Hey I'm an offer holder for A100 Medicine! I've been allocated to Hull but felt pretty gutted when I read my email as York is my dream uni. Is there anyone here who's been allocated to York but wants to go to Hull?

Hull is equally good, but I doubt many people will want to swap. (York is "famous" after all)

Don't worry, I can pretty much guarantee in 2.5 years' time you'll be happy you got Hull.

I've been to Hull a couple of times already, it just isn't suited to me personally :frown: the travel aspect is an issue for me because its more expensive and further from home for me. I really like York as well.

Well :crossedf: someone will swap with you, but if not you shouldn't reject HYMS because of this. There are plenty of advantages of studying in Hull (and it's only 2 years).

Yeah hopefully, and no of course not. I wouldn't even think of that! I was so surprised to get an offer there anyway. The halls and medicine building at Hull are really nice because they're new but travel is a big factor.

Is there anything wrong with them being new?

Travelling is that bad in Hull! It's only about 30 minutes further from London (by train).

No haha I wasn't saying that, I said they're nice because they're new. That's one thing I like, but it's just the general city vibe and travel that's difficult. True but different places I'd have to change over.

Regardless I'm still really grateful for my offer!

:hugs: Don't worry it really isn't that bad. A lot of the accommodation is new too. The trade off to living in a deprived city is that everything is significantly cheaper.

Regardless I'm still really grateful for my offer!

I doubt it, it’s better to socialise outside of your course. Most universities don’t place people of the same course in the same flat.

Same! I really love how the med school looks but I don’t know how I feel about the city, it seems a bit melancholy. I also got quite a few stares on the way to my interview which I felt a bit uncomfortable about.. I’m not too big a fan of the uni accommodation, I’ve started looking at private options. But hopefully if I stick to the uni it’ll be alright..!

Once you receive an email from the uni, you will be told in the email. Takes a day or two for it to come through
Aww amazing, thank you

Best of luck to everyone who hasn’t got offers yet! I only got 660 and band 3 in my SJT so if I can get in Im sure many other people can
does anyone know if you’re allowed to swap your campus allocation with someone willing to swap
