This is not a scientific problem to do with facts and is not as simple as a yes and no answer. This problem is opinion based and you cannot measure an opinion. For example, some people believe aliens exist and some don't. However, we are unable to prove that aliens exist so the people who believe they exist must be wrong. Hang on though, we are also unable to prove that aliens don't exist, so the people who believe they don't exist are must be wrong. No, as you are unable to prove either side they are opinion based and so done on belief until evidence can be proven.
Religion is also a belief as there is no way you can prove or disprove it.

The difference between aliens and saying its not OK to be gay is pretty clear. One doesn't actually have an impact on other people and their daily lives.

And also it is a fact gay people exist.

First off can you provide some evidence where it states that slavery was endorsed in the bible etc? Just because it was talked about doesn't mean they supported it. Also, as I said before. Religion can be interpreted in many ways and in most religious texts it is stated not to hate the person, but the beliefs. Does that mean if there is a black Christian he supports slavery just because he is a Christian? I don't think so but you can think what you want because like I said, that is the best part about democracy, people can THINK what they want.

The existence of gay or trans religious people isn't a theory though? Sorry you had to find out this way that gay and trans religious people exist?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Bible had verses on the logistics of buying and selling slaves, Hinduism has an entire attached caste system, and Islam has had it's own problems with both antisemitism and antiblack racism.
Religions can be extremely racist. Thats another fact.

Islam and anti-black racism? One of the most respected figures in Islam was a black man who called the first call to prayer, which would have been a great honour. The Quran also says that the white is not superior over the black and the black is not superior over the white, except by good deeds/piety. The hajj is the greatest demonstration of equality between all races in Islam.

You're clearly just making things up #deluded

Neither does the other. The farther isn't going around saying it's not okay to be gay. He just doesn't want his son to be taught those things. He never said being gay is wrong.

I don't think you should discriminate against anyone. However, I also believe that people have the right to their opinion and if they believe it is wrong to be a homosexual then that's their opinion. As long as they are not attacking anyone or breaking the law with their opinion that is.

Edit - Just like this situation. The father doesn't say he hates homosexuals, just that he doesn't agree with there practices. Just because he's against it, doesn't mean he hates people who believe in it.

He does have the right to his opinion however his opinion does not change the national curriculum, nor should it. If his child is to be educated as the expense of the tax payers then his child will learn the nation curriculum. That is his choice.

Gays existing is like gravity existing, whether you believe in them or not they are still going to exist.

This just talks about slaves it never promotes or indorses it though.

Have you read the article, he said previously that being gay is not OK.

If you think religion begins and stops at the textual sources then you have an extraordinarily basic and frankly insufficient understanding of religion.
Yes, there was a hugely influential figure within Islam who was black, and yes the Qur'an does teach that black and white are no better.
But people aren't just black or white, and things such as colourism (people with darker skin tones being treated badly by people of the same race who have lighter skin tones and vice versa) still exist.

What are you going on about? I have literally said this 2 times now. I know they exist, but straight religious people exist too. Just because there are gay Muslims doesn't make their whole religion believe being a homosexual is right. It's a belief.

Yes, a Bible verseon the logistics of buying, owning and punishing slaves doesn't promote or endorse slavery. /s

Have you read the article, he said previously that being gay is not OK.

He literally said

“We are not against anyone expressing their sexuality or being homosexual if that’s what they want."

That is his opinion if he thinks being gay is not ok, not a fact.

Just because it says that these people did this doesn't mean it's right. It never states that you must own slaves.

From the article;

Mr Hussain previously said he did not want his son to be told ‘it is okay to be gay’.

That is exactly what he is saying.

Clearly implying that its not okay to be gay.
And I for one am all for people being educated that tolerance should be practised and that we should accept all people. He can homeschool if he so chooses but the public school system should teach tolerance for all.
Guys, Captialist Lamb is clearly not going to change his position on this at all. From an artistic perspective I can appreciate the gymnastics, but he clearly cares more about how people personally feel over the factual existence of gay/trans religious people, the verse in the Bible on owning slaves, and so on.
Let's just let him wallow, I know I'm not bothering anymore.

He said he didn't want "HIS" son to be told that. He never said that it wasn't okay to be gay for anyone else. In fact, he said the opposite of this actually:

We are not against anyone expressing their sexuality or being homosexual if that’s what they want."

But you stated 'Islam and its problem with...and antiblacks'. You are another sad case of someone unable to differentiate between religion and followers of religion. So you are factually incorrect to mention Islam there. I'll give you a hand here and assume you meant Muslims, but even then you are still very, very wrong. It's absolutely ridiculous to say preferring lighter tones is a 'Muslim problem'. It's more to do with culture than being Muslim. This sort of prejudice is prevalent in countries such as India (where the great majority are Hindus) so should we call it a Hindu problem then?
