Absolutely no idea if it'll be straight, you'll have to untangle it to find out.
Wash your hair, condition whatever so it's a bit softer, then starting at the tips of your hair (the part furthest away from your head) start combing/brushing it out, once detangled start moving up the section so your comb is combing from tangled to detangled. This is honestly the best way

yea id just say comb it out as well. my hair is curly too but it doesn't go awfully straight if i untangle it but it depends on when i last washed my hair

yeah within a day i'd say
You can’t change your hair if it’s naturally curly. Not permanently anyway.
Get it cut regularly.
Use conditioner when you wash your hair and comb it through with a wide toothed comb such as an Afro comb. Comb it gently whilst it’s drying to stop it knotting up. Put a small amount of serum through it too. One for frizzy hair
