Is it really any of our business. If he feels a weight has been lifted off his shoulders, good.

It may be a catalyst for someone else to come out to their family and friends.

You’re right. It’s not our business.
Whatever floats his boat.
But doing it live on tv, Instagram and Facebook gives everyone a right to comment
He didn’t need to say anything

"supposedly straight", you said it, they aren't straight, they're bi. And a 100% gay man is not attracted to a female and would not get an erection to **** her. any "gay" man that does is actually bi.

A gay man doesn't have to get an erection from the sight of a woman to get an erection so he can **** her. The thought of men could do it, or the sheer physical sensation of whatever the woman is doing. Similarly a straight man could get an erection from the thought or image of a woman even if he is only in the presence of a man, or from the physical sensation of what the man is doing, and reach orgasm from the same things. If you're so sure one can't, go and get sucked off by a bloke with your favourite porn film on and tell me what happens.

Weird thing is its always been pretty obvious. But it was still a surprise to me for some reason when he announced it...

He has been married for many years and has fathered 2 children. Surely a 100% gay man would find it physically impossible to father 2 children?

haha oh you are very mistaken, theres been a looooooong history of gay men playing the straight role and fully too. they will sleep with women, marry women and have children with them. despite being 100% gay deep down. there are sooooo many examples of it. thats where the term 'being a beard' came from.
Dont think it is an issue whatsoever, only thing I think is he maybe should have told his wife and family sooner.

The thoughts don't have to but I guarantee the act would, its just biology. And also this whole thing with Philip, you can easily lie to yourself and tell yourself you are something you're not.

I can't disprove what you say as i've never tried it but the thought does nothing for me.

It would take some pretty crazy imagination and almost trance like thinking to enable ****ing a man by thinking about a woman.
If I man tried sucking me off, even with other stimulation, I believe I would go limp. Of course I can't prove this.

yes because they aren't actually gay men, they are bisexual men. please read the wikipedia descriptions above, it's very clear.

Would it? I'm sure you can **** your own hand by thinking about a woman. And anyway maybe Paul didn't have to just use his imagination and the physical sensation of whatever his wife was doing/what he was doing to his wife to get and maintain an erection. Perhaps they had a porn film on on the TV while they were doing it and he was staring at the man's ass the entire time.

I respectfully call bull****. It would be like Barbie and The Nutcracker with the kind of nuts you'd be busting. There would be a tidal wave of *** and you'd be wanted for manslaughter after drowning the guy with it.

You can go and get sucked off by a man like I said, and upload the film evidence of you not managing to get hard, if that's what would happen as you seem to think.

As title, he has declared himself gay at 57. I'm slightly puzzled by this.

He has been married for many years and has fathered 2 children. Surely a 100% gay man would find it physically impossible to father 2 children?

I think he is actually bi-sexual (so to state he is gay is incorrect) or that his sexuality has changed at some point. If it's the latter then I wonder what causes this to happen?

I don't believe sexual orientation is a choice. It's a biological chemical reaction that we have no control over. For example, no amount of thinking or wanting could ever cause me to get an erection over a man.

not surprised at all, it was so obvious. btw, tons of old gay guys are married. and it's not that they are bi, they are simply too scared to come out of the closet. pathetic in this day and age
It’s not for any of us to say what Mr Schofeilds sexuality is, this is down to him to decide for himself.

The definitions of homosexuality and bisexuality are universal and the same as wikipedia.

No bull****, i have no desire to get sucked off by a man and doubt i'd keep a hard on knowing a mans mouth was around my ****.

He's a public figure who announced his sexuality live on tv to millions, we are entitled to express opinions on this.

I'm more getting at that when people are talking about self identity, definitions don't seem that much use.

Not really surprised.

A gay man can fall in love with a woman without being sexually attracted to her. He may have been attracted to her romantically, just not sexually. I do feel bad for his wife though as I’m sure even if she accepts him there will be people harassing or mocking her about it with “how did you not know?” or “your husband was never sexually attracted to you” comments, which are things I’m sure she told herself after finding out. Unless of course she’s known all along (or much longer anyway), which is plausible, and decided to be with him for the children’s sake, because she still loves him or because he’s probably pretty rich.

Phillip has said he is gay. Going by all definitions he is bi. Unless in the time since he ****ed his wife he has lost interest sexually in women.
Anyone who isn't LGBT can hardly imagine the social pressure exerted on this group. Despite our fledgling media presence (which is still mainly dominated by white gay men), we are discussing an extremley small minority of the population. Many LGBT people try to conform to the norm before even acknowledging within themselves that we are different. My opinion is that Philip Schofield is no hero, he did choose to lie to his wife for a period of time however he was, like so many others, under societal pressure. I am glad that he has come out as any time a public figure does it helps others come to terms with their sexuality. Also, sometimes people don't want to just label themselves.

I agree with this, it must have been tough for him, i wish him good luck, hope his wife and kids will be ok, and hope he finds happiness.
