Film production at aub

Quick question which I hope people will answer ---> How practical is the course? I thought it was very practical but someone from there told me it wasn't as practical as he thought

It's a practical course but it's also a degree - that means there will always be an element of theory and reflection required in assessed work (as well as just production).

Yes, I have and thought it was extremely but someone told me it wasn't really. This is why I want to have other people's opinions on how practical it is

You could always try contacting the SU or the BFS social media accounts to find out if they can put you in touch with current students. There aren't any current AUB film students on TSR as far as I know

i appiled for this course last year and i got rejected after interview. i currently go to lincoln to do film studies instead (there is a film course, but they changed it on results day and like, the course content is ok for me.)

Hey, I'm currently a first year student on the Film course at AUB and I highly recomend it, we made 3 films in the first semester, any more and it would have been way too much lmao. This semester is focusing on screenwriting and learning about the different specialisms, so no overly practical stuff, but our work is leading to a short film the we are making after easter with first year acting students so thats pretty major. I'd say the course can be as practical as you want it to be, theres always opportunies to do personal projects, and one of our lecturers also occasionally runs weekend film challanges, where you have to make a film in 48 hours, which is loads of fun. Does the uni offer any work placements or do the students find work themselves in their free time? Because I have read its more important than the degree itself and AUB has not mentioned anything on their web about careers and employability of the students after graduation. Do you now anything?
