My dad SHATTERED my phone this morning over a milkshake... help?:/

so i was getting ready to go to school... and it was getting time to leave the house. but before we left, my dad made me and my brother our daily milkshake. so we started to drink it and he started to head the truck. fast-forward, i finished the milkshake and left the house, hopped in the truck, and he asks me "did you finish your shake", i respond with "of course"... i guess he didn't hear because he asked it again. and i responded with the same thing. except this time i whispered under my breath "i mean i had no choice". he quickly hops out of the truck and goes over to me and swings open my door. i think fast and jump out of the other side of the truck. he proceeds to yell at me and say go in the house rn. i do as he said. i go in the house, and as expected, he follows me. we're in the house and he starts yelling to get my moms attentions to inform her what had just happened. i kinda drifted off and since he was yelling i quickly started to voice record him. then, i got closer to him so that the recording could capture what he was saying. when outta nowhere he says give me your phone. i was kinda cornered so i had no choice but to give him my phone. anxiety struck me as i realized i was still voice recording. there was nothing i could do but hope that he doesn't find that i was recording him. 5 sec later were heading out of the house again. he checks my phone, and the recording is the first thing that pops up. he turns around and says W*F is this?! i was speechless. he turns back around and YEETS the phone super hard at the ground. not gonna lie i teared up. here i am now venting to whoever reads this... anyway, what is yalls opinion/what should i do??? thanks

Your dad is a nut job and needs to be reported to the police. I'd be very, very surprised if there haven't been many previous outbursts. People who behave like wild animals need to be locked up.

You'd be surprised at the number of British kids using truck"". I think almost everyone I know does. Though "mom" is rather uncommon.

Where did 'lorry' go? A perfectly serviceable word, and much less ugly. The only valid use of 'truck' in the UK is in the set phrase: 'pickup-truck'.

Perhaps this is what the OP meant.
Hold up, over a milkshake?

If you didn't like your dad making you milkshakes in the morning why not just tell him this? Seems like a situation escalated for literally no reason.
Under UK law that would likely be criminal damage. But since you have a "truck" and "mom" I would suggest you check state law.

‘lorry’ doesn’t describe a truck. just how ‘lorry’ doesn’t describe a van

truck is definitely used in england wtf

Ahh yes, I long for the days I take my children to school in a big f*ck off HGV

I'm not even sure where you came to the conclusion that might be what the OP meant. It was most likely a pickup...

I used to have a big Honda crv. It was a diesel and was always known as the truck

What if I wanted to talk about my masthead truck?

Of course it's used in the UK, you fool - that's not the point. 99% of the time, what is being called a 'truck' is what would only a few years ago have been instinctively called a 'lorry'.

This is off-topic, anyway.

His Dad smashed his phone. Allegedly. He can't see the replies anyway, probably.

So many good uses.

Back to the point at hand, tell the police, criminal damage, all that jam.

Oh yeah... Bad Dad. Tell the police. Get him locked up and then you can buy a new phone without having to worry that he's going to smash it up again. Done.
