I'm struggling with question 4 (i) of this question. I have differentiated the equation given which y equals sinx/x. Now I'm a little stuck as to how to prove that the x-coordinate of M satisfies the equation x equals tanx. I would really appreciate some help here.

That's the right approach. What is your dy/dx?

OK, what next? M IS A minimum point, so what do you do with your dy/dx?

dy/dx is greater than the minimum point.

M is a min point so the gradient there is zero.
