Tick lists sound a bit weird.
You mean timelines or notes or mindmaps? Those are the ways I would tackle the subejct.
Also flashcards.

Do some googling am sure you will come across sets quite easily or just buy a few revision books. They are common modules and you may even find some free revision guides.

I find them useful to organise revision and when to do each topic etc.
