The pill

I forgot to take my pill on the 27th so took 2 on the 28th. I then forgot to take my pill on the 18th took two today? Will I be protected ?

No.
You need to read the leaflet that comes with the pill - you are not taking it in the right way. You should not take 2 to make up for missing one

The leaflet tells you to take the forgotten pill even if means taking two in one day.
Really- that has changed. I guess it depends on the type of pill
Yes you're still protected

Yes you'll still be protected if you've only missed one  https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/contraception/miss-combined-pill/

I have missed one and then missed another 20 days later so I am unsure

I’ve missed two pills tho, missed one and then missed another 20 days later.
i’ve only been on the mini pill, my nurse told me if i forget to take a pill in the ‘safe’ time window i’m not fully protected for 2 days, and that increases for every pill
so i’d say no?

It takes only a week (7 days) of constant taking of the pill to build protection back up, so the difference of 20 days doesn't matter
