Elaborate, anon, what do you mean by in quarantine? Under medical grounds? Are you socially deprived? Were you homeschooled? How do you deal with the boredom and loneliness?

Thanks!

Ooof, that says it all. Overprotective parents and culture. I'm Filipino, and my parents are improving, but I can understand in a sense in terms of asking soo many questions. And that's cool, I plan to pick up some old hobbies during this quarantine in the UK

Mmm, crying can be cathartic, but I hope you're taking care of yourself otherwise. And I hope this thread helps you feel less lonely!

Me too. I’ve always been a lone wolf and most of the time I’ve stayed at home by choice, but even the thought of spending months on end inside terrifies me. I only really socialise with people my own age at college and they don’t have an iPhone to FaceTime or anything, so I’m stuck with my nearly 60 year old parents who are really strict, and my brother and sister who are both in their early twenties and barely speak to me woo!

Ahhh sighhh like I can’t with the questions anymore. Wish they could trust me a bit. Lool they must love me that much to want me in the house everyday. As a teenager, I just can’t. Like I just want to have a life ffs.

Thank youu xx. Decided to get an ED for fun too lool. Figured it’s the only think that I could focus on and forget about life problems
Why do you think that you have been in quarantine?
Are your family obsessed with germs and disease?
Or just separatists/religious traditionalists in the habit of seeing the devil lurking behind every corner of modern life in Britain.

Maybe quarantine is not the right word loool but it’s because I’ve been stuck at home for ages (I feel like anyways). Nop theyre not. If anything, it’s me that’s very germ conscious. Exactlyyy. Why put me in this country if you’re not gonna make me live like I’m in it.

As sad as it may sound, I’ve been under my dads roof for almost my entire life with him knowing everything I do (other than what’s in my phone) and then I’m going to get handed and married off to some guy and I’ll be under his roof too. Probably stuck at home cooking and cleaning

Don't lose hope.
You have the right to decide your own future and marriage plans.

My mother had a lonely, miserable childhood growing up within a very controlling ultra-traditionalist catholic family that taught her self-harm was holy, medieval catholicism perfect and modern life the evil path of the devil.
In 1960s england.
Her father had arranged three marriages for her by the time she was 21, two to guys she had never even met.:mwuaha:
When she told her family that she was going to marry an atheist, her father and his mother almost beat her to death.
She married the man she wanted and chose to escape from a life where she was allowed almost no freedom.
The people her age that she knew growing up are all either: dead, in mental hospitals or bitter at being alone and unmarried in their 60s/70s.

I get that, how old are you? Maybe they'll give you more freedom in a year, or when you're in uni. Hey, at least this gives you the opportunity to make a bucket list on "things I missed out on as a teenager" or "things to fill the void that was my adolescence" lol

And hey, like, eating disorder? I'm sorry to hear that, I can understand the need to feel like you have control over something in your life to the point where you start self-destructing. I hope you find something less harmful to yourself, OP, you deserve better <3 I don't have one myself, but I've relied on ineffective coping mechanisms in the past until they were no longer "effective". Do your parents give you privacy? Something that helped me was journaling, although it's taken me ages to get better at it, and some of that comes down to my school telling my parents about my mental health because it got that bad. They didn't respond perfectly but I contribute their response to why I don't act out on myself physically as frequently anymore

I’m 20!!! I’m already at uni. I’m second year. People now my ducking curfew is at 7 it’s so embarrassing. But I’m gonna do that uno. Maybe I haven’t missed much idk but I know I did.

yh I think it was a coping mechanism. I got bored and found something to focus on so I don’t focus on the bad things in life. Weightloss is a priority so why not obsess over it since they won’t even care or realise it’s unhealthy. They didn’t. Only one of my sister realised but I didn’t care coz one opinion doesn’t matter much. I spoke to the gp they never helped much but Idc anymore I’m sure I can help myself out since I put myself in it. I’m not really deep in the disordered eating hole, I know what I’m doing. Privacy? What type of privacy?
