English Literature A level AQA - Introducing texts

Has anybody got advice on how to introduce essays. I am currently writing a practice paper on Othello and struggling on how to introduce the play as a whole, do I start with
The tragedy of Othello, written by William Shakespeare, presents the main character Othello, as a respectable, honorable, and dignified man, but because of his insecurities and good nature, he is easily taken advantage of and manipulated by his peers and alleged friends.

I hope this is a good enough example . Start by describing your main idea and developing your thesis statement
