Hey! I have also secured a place at Essex for Msc 2020. Little bit nervous as I have a first class Bsc degree in sports coaching but no prior anatomy or physiology knowledge. Surprised that I got a place but now nervous that mg knowledge will be so behind compared to others on the course!

Ah well done! Omg me too, I’m nervous, but I found some good notes online (I think they’re mostly anatomy based) so trying to use those to help 😅
Congrats to you too! I’m still waiting to hear back from Kings but don’t think I have got that! What’s your background? (If you don’t mind me asking).

Hi,
Congratulations to you both on securing places!
I actually have an interview coming up next week with Essex via zoom call as I'm an international applicant.
Did you both have zoom interviews due to the Coronavirus?
What types of questions did you get asked and would there be anything you would recommend preparing?

Hey!
ooh where are you from?

I had my interview at the university back in November.

I got asked why I wanted to be a physiotherapist. What experience I had in the field

why I wanted to study at Essex - I recommend doing a bit of research on the lecturers, if you go on the Physiotherapy page on the uni website and there’s information on the lecturers (just shows you’re actually interested 😅)

what area of physiotherapy you may want to specialise in.
What kind of benefit will you being a physiotherapist have on specific populations

ooh and they asked quite a few questions in relation to the dementia video
Know the nhs values and be able to incorporate them into your answers.

this is what I can remember off the top of my head 😅
really hope all goes well for you ☺️ Best of luck

Thank you so much for your help!

I'm from Ireland  - so not very far away! I would have loved to do an onsite interview but it's obviously not possible right now. Good point on why Essex - I'm guessing this will be extra important for me as we have the same course here in Dublin, but the UK is my preference!

Ah ok,

Yeah I didn’t really think of why until the morning of the interview but they said they liked how I knew about the lecturers, so I guess it helped 😅 best of luck
Hiya, congrats on getting an interview! I got exactly the same sort of questions! It’s was a really nice interview, Essex just want to see what your like as a person...that’s the feeling i got!

How did you incorporate that, when mentioning the lectures? As may try same with future interviews 😂 like how did you make it relevant if that makes sense

Hey!
Check out Crash course Anatomy and Physiology on YouTube and Netters anatomy flash cards.
I’m applying for next year! Any tips would be appreciated😊
Hey everyone,
Saw that Essex has announced that they are do a vast amount of online lectures and teaching in the Autumn term! How is everyone feeling about this?

I don’t mind to be honest As long as there are still lecture type stuff online, just think it will be harder to make friends and I do kind of like being in a lecture it forces me to acc listen and learn so I’m in two minds atm

Where is everyone from currently as in area wise ?

Does anyone know how many people there are on the MSc course ?

I feel the exact same way. I emailed them back asking if we could still have face time face lectures so we can get to know classmates/make friends and what not. I also assumed a lot of the practical side involved working on/with each other so don’t know how that will work tbh 🥴.

same lecture halls make me stay awake as I don’t want to get picked on (haha). I think for physio it’s a small class, I heard it was between 20-30 but am not 100% sure.

I’m from London, still waiting to hear from the uni what accommodation they’ve given em. Have you applied for on campus accom to, or anyone else?
