Retaking AS Maths two years later

Hi,

I got a C in A Level Maths and now I'm at uni doing CS in first year but I got 80 in my maths module. If I retake C1, C2, S1 what happens to my grade? I did my A Levels in 2018. Will my AS Mathematics be a separate qualification to my A Level Maths? If it is, will I not be allowed to add modules from to A Level Maths if I wish to do it the next year?

This is mainly to increase my chances of doing a Master's after uni and also for grad schemes.

Ok cool

I saw that Pearson International A Levels can be sat in the autumn period of 2020, which would be good. Can I apply now and pay the £58 fee so I can sit their AS Level?

Oh that's annoying. I also researched and emailed three schools in my city to see if they can take me as a private candidate to do Cambridge International AS Levels this autumn.

Really? That's annoying. This suggests that you can take CIAL https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/why-choose-us/find-a-cambridge-school/ https://wolseyhalloxford.org.uk/a-level-distance-learning/

Will there be A Level autumn exams?

You will need to sit an A level next summer - check the dates don't clash with your uni exams.

Are you sure? That doesn't tally with the advice I was given when I asked about this recently.

"Edexcel International Advanced Level qualifications are not available to centres in the UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. Additionally, British Armed Forces schools based overseas are not able to make entries for these qualifications".

Ah - that is quite clear, isn't it!

The post I should really have been querying was:

This one I'm less sure about. Distance learning centre Wolsey Hall offer CIE A Levels for almost all subjects, to UK as well as international students. Is this different from the Cambridge IAL?

I see but the OP said "Cambridge International AS Levels" so I am assuming no it ain't available in the UK. The structure is different in England you are tested on several modules within a single paper for most exams? (which is cr*ppy (screw linear my A-levels)) whereas for the IAL you are luckily only tested on 1 unit/module at a time? so I doubt that UK centres will let you sit the Cambridge International AS Levels in England for that reason but @Compost are we chatting gibberish or is this true? Can you sit the Cambridge International AS Levels in the UK? I am in Y12 so I know nothing lol.

EDIT: but it looks like you can sit them in the UK?

CAIE is not my specialist subject (I entered one candidate for AS Afrikaans about 6 years ago and that's the only GCE I've ever entered with CAIE) but they publish a timetable for the UK in November https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/Images/469288-november-timetable-uk.pdf so it must be possible. However, I'd expect candidates would have to pay a premium to do it as so very few centres in the UK will make entries.
