Survey - The top 5 universities (excluding Oxbridge)

I thought it would be interesting to see what TSR though were the top 5 universities in the UK. To make things slightly different, I thought I would exclude Oxbridge from this.

All you need to do is comment with your top 5. The universities don't have to be in order as each of your universities in your list will just get one point, no matter where they rank. I will then collect the information and share them later on.

This is just for fun and obviously means very little.

Can you think of an alternative university to Cambridge as Cambridge is part of Oxbridge?

Imperial, LSE, St Andrews, Edinburgh, UCL. Not sure why people put Kings so often?
Edinburgh, UCL, Warwick, Manchester and King's College (I'd have said LSE but they're a specialist institution, much like I think Imperial might be?)

Which degree? This is pretty pointless without that.
Best in what respect? The ones that you like the best? If so you might as well put your 5 UCAS choices down...

Thank you
I do worry that some people think that this counts as “fun”.

Dude - find a hobby

And people wonder why TSR is seen as a toxic place...
I wouldnt really be able to give a general list. The thing is for something like maths, some unis focus more on applied others focus on pure. St. Andrews is decent on paper and in reputation but has an inordinate amount of applied options with very few pure ones (some of them even look out of place being offered by the maths dept) so I'd have never wanted to go there. (I'd probably rather go somewhere like Bath which I don't see appearing in anyone's list) Probably ditto for other subjects.

[fwiw, I'm not sure I understand the obsession with London unis, more specifically why kings is popping up so much]
