Quarantine help - France

So France will be removed from the UK’s quarantine exemption list this Saturday (bc obviously coronavirus will be polite enough to not infect anyone arriving from France in the UK before then 🥴). The problem I have is that we have driven through France to Italy to see family as we thought it would be far safer to go through the Eurotunnel and travel in our own car rather than flying to northern Italy. Do we now need to self isolate on our return even though we’re just driving through France? Thanks

Yes. If you drive back then you’ll have to quarantine for 14 days.

If there’s any member of your family who faces losing wages/a job due to that then it might be worth looking at arranging flights back for those family members.

Even if we don’t stop anywhere in France? Honestly this whole system is ridiculous - no one wants to fly back because air travel is much more risky
