Hi Everyone! That's it... we're through! After 1.5 years of hard work, 6 months of lockdown, GCSEs are done! I hope everyone was satisfied with their results and has planned their next steps. With that in mind, this is the new year 12 thread, for all of us to chat, lament, rejoice, share notes over the next year. Here's a format for your first post, but nobody is forcing you to follow it, post whatever you like!

I’m taking chemistry, biology, maths and economics
How are you feeling about starting Year 12?
Its a bit strange, it feel like I never completed yr11
Any plans for the next year?
Study hard
Any plans made yet for what you will do after A-Levels/BTECs?
Hopefully get into either: Cambridge, RVC, Liverpool or Nottingham to study Vet med and then specialise in equine vet med
How was Year 11 for you?
I didn’t really revise at all, so the end before quarantine was really stressful on me and I put a lot of pressure on myself
Any hobbies/interests?
Horse riding, art, languages, Long distance running and lots of sports including cricket 😌
How was your lockdown?
Pretty boring up until I was allowed to go the stables
Are you satisfied with your grades? Yes, other than one :/

I'm really excited I've already bought stationery and printed off the specifications.

Get some work experience in a care setting and that's about it for now.

I would like to study Medicine at university and become a medical doctor.
How was Year 11 for you?
Well it was an eventful year for all of us. For me it was quite challenging but I made it through and that's the most important thing really.
Any hobbies/interests?
Jigsaw puzzles, badminton, aviation, charity work
How was your lockdown?
I don’t know what a GYG is soo......
But overall it was quite productive and boring....

I am happy. I passed everything except computer science but that was expected (should’ve never chose that subject). I’m going into sixth form soo im very happyyy.

Psychology,history,sociology and philosophy (dropping philosophy)

I’m quite scared because every single person has said the jump is massive and they had to revise wayyy more than GCSE’s.
Any plans for the next year?
Hopefully I can start my work expierience because I’ve never had a job before.

I want to go uni to study Human Resources or business management.

Tbh my secondary school years was bad because I was battling depression.

I don’t really have any now but before I liked to draw and edit videos for others.

Tbh I don’t like to socialise that much so it was heaven for me

Satisfied? Satisfied?? I’m literally bursting with happiness. I screamed when I opened my results. I couldn’t be any more satisfied! It’s just such an amazing feeling; I can barely describe it.

Maths, Chemistry, History and Biology - Though I’ll probably end up swapping Biology for Further Maths.
How are you feeling about starting Year 12?
If I said I was excited, I’d be lying. The thought of going back to school is surprisingly exhausting despite the circumstances. Although, I am - in general - a super lazy person, so
Any plans for the next year?
Going to try my hardest to find some work experience placements, as well as start some BMAT and UCAT practice. It’s going to be straight back to the drawing boards from here on out.
Any plans made yet for what you will do after A-Levels?
Medicine has been my dream for a while. Oxford has also been a dream, but me being myself, there’s no way I could imagine myself actually getting in. I can only pray on that tbh.
How was Year 11 for you?
Was literally my most fun and interesting school year so far. I socialised a lot more, attended some sick parties with my friends, revised my butt off. Yeah, I enjoyed it despite the stress that came with mocks.
Any hobbies/interests?
I bake and draw a LOT. I was planning on starting a youtube channel actually, but me being me (again), the procrastination was too strong in me to fulfil my plans. Plus, that was while procrastinating my school work. So I was procrastinating my procrastination.
I have started a baking business, though, and it’s going well so far!
How was your lockdown?
It was actually really enjoyable. All I did was bake, watch YouTube, anime and chat with friends on Houseparty. I really wish I got some work done, but hey-ho. That’s life, I guess..? I’m really going to try to be more productive during Year 12.

How are you feeling about starting Year 12? I'm very excited as I am moving to a new school and I am looking forward to gaining more independence and doing subjects I actually like (bye bye english lit forever!). I am obviously a bit nervous, but atm, the excitement is taking priority
Any plans for the next year? Personally, I want to build on my confidence in general and get better at being independent in the 'real world' lol. Academically, just study hard and get the best grades I can
Any plans made yet for what you will do after A-Levels/BTECs? Yes, my current plan is to hopefully get a Degree Apprenticeship in a (hopefully big 4) Accounting firm in Assurance, working towards a Level 7 qualification as an ACA Chartered Accountant. I am starting to consider applying to unis as a backup and if I do, I will definitely be applying to courses that include some kind of work placement (so far I've looked at York and Newcastle).
How was Year 11 for you? Year 11 was great, honestly, I would definitely say it was my best year at school so far.. Mainly because the teachers got a lot more laid back and everyone was much more chill finally! Bit sad tbh that it's over.. I cant believe I'm going into Year 12, I remember posting as soon as the Y11 chat thread was made last year and it really doesn't feel like so much time has passed!

Bio, Chem, English + EPQ (was thinking of a 4th subject, I am not too sure)
Feelings about starting Yr 12:
It's a bit confusing at times, because when my school say they're going to send me updates etc. they don't. But still overall, I am excited to get back.
Plans:
Study, get work experience, uni open days, perhaps do extra-curricular competitions and essays.
