Urgent advice needed please

Hi all! Just wanted some advice if possible please: I have received 2 offers for degree apprenticeships both starting in September but I just cannot decide between the 2 and would like some help please.

1) 4 year Degree Apprenticeship with an Investment Bank - will get a degree in applied finance from a Russel Group Uni and have a position within Global Banking. This would be the perfect opportunity for me as I have always wanted to be an investment banker however the role is based in London - I would have to relocate from 5 hours away with no family/friends there and very little knowledge. Half of my wage would be spent on rent/living costs. I would only be getting 3k more annually pre tax compared to the other apprenticeship.

2.4.5 year Degree apprenticeship programme with an IT Consultancy firm where I would have a role as a project analyst and get a degree in business management from Uni Of Aston. I still find this role to be exciting and this placement is a half an hour drive for me - will not have to relocate so will save much more money. I suppose I would be able to go into investment banking after completion anyways?

I just really need advice as I do not have long left to decide and don't want to throw away a good opportunity. Thankyou

Half your wage really isn't bad at all for London and since it's more direct to what career you want , I'd be leaning towards that option.

Thankyou for your reply much appreciated If I factor all my expenses I'll have a just less than a quarter of my wages left a month - is it still worth it? Also, I have no idea where to live and will be homesick So sorry for venting on I'm just so indecisive.

All your bills and food covered, so you're just talking clothes and luxuries and such? if so that doesn't sounds too bad to be. Homesickness wasn't really an issue for me leaving home but it's something you'll have to do at some point in your life and it seems like a great opportunity for you.

No food/train tickets home/trasnport/bills not really factored in luxuries But thanks so much did you move for an apprenticeshop too

I’ve completed a degree apprenticeship.
Option 1 is what I’d choose from what you’ve put.
The main things I’d consider are:
•The development opportunities at work I.e. do they allow you to rotate around departments or take on a broad range of work.
•What level of colleagues would you work with? Are they highly skilled teams.

If the employer is fully invested in your development on site, the university doesn’t matter as much. You may end up working at a higher level than what’s being taught at uni.

Although most importantly, I’d suggest to pick which one interests you the most. Degree apprenticeships take a lot of work and you’ll need the interest to keep motivated.

Half your wage on living is good, much better than most full time students.

I am not sure if it is rotational but I do know I will be working with highly skilled teams. Oh I didn't know that about uni as well but I suppose that makes sense. No i moved away for university and then decided to stay in the same city, i mean i don't spend that much on luxuries on myself as I'd rather have money saved but it seems like it would get you in an even better position after the 4 years.

So I ended up going with the London one but now they have offered me the chance to stay in Manchester but I’d have to change roles and all the other apprentices would be in London. Do I stay in Manchester or go for London I’m just unsure - is it worth the 30k+ just to have a new experience/social life even though all the benefits are the same
