Mine started about six months ago with an anxiety attack. I have had the heart checked ok with a 24 hour monitor. I have lost weight, about 10 pounds. Sounds like it is anxiety related. Eventhough one may not feel anxious, the body is stressed out. As someone else mentioned, the low body fat could be a possible cause. Noticed that healthy eating, reducing starchy carbs helps, addressing gut issues, addressing stress triggers helps. It is about managing this thing as best as we can and learn to live with it.
Hello, Since February 2020, my heart is pounding, with not fast but strong heartbeat. ECG, echocardiography and Doppler are absolutely normal. My blood and hormonal exams are normal. I’m 25 and was very sporty and always eat healthy food. I tried beta blocker, no effect. I can see my feet, my arms and my belly shaking with my heartbeats and I have pain in my arteries since February. A barium swallow showed a small hiatal hernia and important gerd. I don’t know if it’s linked because my heart beats strongly even whiteout eating, but swallowing increase the force of the pulse. Maybe I will have a hiatal hernia surgery. My life is horrible since that, I can’t sleep normally and always have chest pain and feeling my heart. I’m wondering if a heart sintigraphy can reveal something like a thrombus. Can it be the heart neves who are over excited ? If someone find the cause, please tell it here !!!!!!!!!!!!! ( I’m not anxious and live with that crazy heartbeat since 6 months)

Have anyone tried any anxiety medication for this? I have read some posts on reddit describing the same bounding pulse and that it went away after starting to take Valium. I wish not to take any antidepressants but if that is what it takes than it leaves me with no choice. I have had this bounding pulse problem for over a year now and I am just so fed up with it. Because I am doing completely fine both mentally and physically and have no other symptoms than this bounding pulse felt on my temples and other places.

For me, my pulse is stronger only after eating. Today my doctor said that I will have next month a surgery for my hiatal hernia. I think that my hiatal hernia caused my heart problems. I don’t think that a normal person can suffer with heart problems only because of anxiety.

As per my post above (ej125) I haven't been able to get to the bottom of it. I have had something like this for 3 years and duloxetine has helped quite a bit. although I'm still not back to normal by any stretch. Mine are also with an internal tremor (whitch is so strong at times my teeth shatter) it's made worse the day and days after alcohol. I'm about to start 'autogenic' training on the NHS so will see how that goes, but I do see my problem as physical as my anxiety is now almost non existent but the pain keeps going or gets worse...

Wondering if you have found anything that has helped.
I also have a very strong pulse; when I lie down my tummy strongly pulses up and down and also have a trong heart beat when I sit up quickly etc...

I had an echo and ecg done and all came back clear. Just turned 16 and although it might seem worrying to you, if everything has come back clear then I'm sure there isn't anything to worry about.

I also find myself trembling, more so on the left side of my body; that I am pretty worried about. I hope its just an essential tremor. Does anyone else have shaky hands??

Just came across this post in my search. I have had a pretty severe case of pulsations and internal tremors going on for 4 months. So bad at night that I cannot sleep laying down, I have moved a recliner chair into my bedroom. My neck and throat are so sore from the strong pulse that it makes it difficult to swallow now. I now have asthma and Gerd, bad acid reflux as well as hyper salivary glands and insomnia because I fear laying down. It is worse when laying down I now feel I am being strangled and my breathing is very laboured but I can usually feel it most of the time now with no breaks and my body feels completely drained. When it is really bad it makes be feel super agitated, it raises the hair on the top of my head. I have had quite a bit of testing from expats to ultrasound and ecg...nothing. I'm in to see a heart specialist next week, but it really makes me worry that my body can't take much more. I have discussed taking anti anxiety with my gp, even though neither of us feel it is brought on by stress, but stress on the body can react even though you feel calm. I had pneumonia probably due to covid in mid March, just didn't get tested as there were none then. This started shortly after. I also had a minor surgery in mid June so I have held off but will start lorazepam tonight. I am a 55 year old female in Canada and have been fairly healthy. This has wreaked havoc on my quality of life. I'm hoping someone else on here has figured this out. Thought I would also mention as some other have that I am on an acid reducer as it seem to be a trigger. Not sure if anyone else also had breathing issues with this like struggling to catch your breath or like your stopping breathing. I strongly feel my breathing is a strong trigger in setting my body off into anxiety mode, hence the reason I can't lay down. It first started that I couldn't lay on my right side. I hoping the few of us on here can help each other get through this and figure it out.

When I sit still I feel the tremors all over even in my face. Its like having and physical anxiety attack that just doesn't end with a very strong pulse pounding in my neck

Since February, I’m facing that problem of a very strong heartbeat after a workout, every beat is so strong but not fast. It’s a living a nightmare because it’s constant, even when I sleep, I feel each heartbeat, my whole body is shaking all the day because of the pulse. 5 ECG, 2 cardiography, 2 Ultrasound absolutely normal. I am very sporty and I am only 25. My arteries are painful from that and I feel very dizziness constantly after eating. After endoscopy they found a hiatal hernia and my doctor suggest a surgery next month. If you have heart problems with NORMAL heart exams, I think that hiatal hernia is the problem. My doctor said that in the 80´s hiatal hernia were treated with surgery, specifically when they cause heart problems. Today we give proton inhibitors without healing all the problems caused by hiatal hernia. Hope that you will find a favorable outcome.
Hi, sorry to reopen this thread but did anyone find a solution or see their problem go away. I have had visible neck pulsations and throbbing for 3 weeks not and idk what’s causing it :/

I get it sometimes but that's because I'm quite skinny and young (16). I had EGC, echo and had my heart listened to and they couldnt find any problem.

If you are concerned then go to your GP and they will refer you to a cardiologist just to run some tests. It gave me a peice of mind, and as the stress about my heart went away, so did the palpitations.

I highly recommend you do not search your symptoms online as the first thing you read will be the worst case scenarios like aneurism, cancer, heart disease etc... which are VERY VERY unlikely in a healthy person, who doesn't smoke, isn't obese and exercises regularly.

Hope this helps
Usually, if you're quite slim, excersise frequently, you will feel like this because there's less fat to dampen this feeling, also if you exercisie, your heart will of course be stronger than before, so it will beat 'stronger' and you'll feel it.

Also, if you're quite overweight and eaat junk food/greasy foods frequently, with little exercise and don't drink enough water, don't be surprised if you're feeling like this; it's not healthy and you should change your lifestyle before it's too late.

If you're having pains or w/e then consult a doctor innit

I’m not necessarily worried about that it is life threatening, it’s more a concern that it will not resolve. It isn’t comfortable after all and the constant pulsations in my neck are making it hard to relax. Had headaches since it started too which seems coincidental!

Might as well visit the GP then

Did anyone get this after a traumatic experience or anxiety attack? I think I will try some benzos to see if they can help. I have tried everything else such as clean lifestyle, breathing techniques, exercise frequently etc. Nothing helps long term. Just a big meal or a coffee and I am back to the pumping pulse. Its a ****ing joke this condition that came out of no where. Had this for over a year now and I even don't look forward to go to sleep anymore because I know the pulse in my tempels will be bouncing crazy
Did anyone find medication helped with bounding pulse? I was thinking of trying diazepam/Valium or is beta blocker better?
Any update?I've recently had this pulsating feeling for the past 3 weeks now. When I'm lying down I can feel the pulse in my neck and the left side of my heart also moves up and down and my glasses move a little bit (I wear glasses whenever I use my laptop whilst I'm lying in bed). Also whilst I'm lying down, my stomach moves to the rhythm of my heart and whenever I lift my t shirt up,the pulsation is there! The pulsating feeling becomes lighter when I'm standing. I don't think I have anxiety and I do not have any painful symptoms whatsoever (no headaches, no nausea, no chest pain etc).Has anyone found a cure yet? Thanks

I used to have a bounding pulse on my temples and biceps and then I realized I wasn't having much sugar for almost a month since my family wanted to cut down on sugar and wouldn't buy anymore sweets/chocolate/sugar stuff. After almost of month of not enough sugar, I decided to have a pack of sweets and chocolate and the pulses on my temples and biceps disappeared and never came back! I make sure I am having enough sugar to avoid them problems!
Consider when was the last time you ate something sugary. Maybe you have sugar withdrawal symptoms?
