International Student Help

If you are an international student studying in the UK, did you use any websites or services to help fill out the UCAS or decide which universities to apply to?

1. Work out what grades you will have or likely to have.
2. Work out what degree subject you wish to study?
3. Do some research and start finding out which universities you want to apply to. All unis have web pages plus you can ask questions about them on here.
4. Once you have identified the course you can choose to apply up to 5 unis.

5. All students use the UCAS system which deals with the admin and you fill out their application form online, who then send your application and reference out to the unis. You can apply from Sept and there are short deadlines for things like Oxbridge and Medicine in October the year before you start study., with the soft deadline for other curses being in January of the year you intend to study.

6. They make offers or rejections.
7. You pick a firm and an insurance offer.
8. You then get your results from your exams.
9 You then apply to your firm to ask for a CAS letter, confirmation of acceptance to study. You need to make a part payment at this stage.
10. They send you the CAS which you then take to the embassy along with other documents and you have a short interview.
11. They issue a visa.
12. You fly to the UK and start your course.
