Vegan Recipe Swap/Compilation! (cakes, pancakes, curries, chilli)

A few other vegans and I always seem to be hungry for new recipe ideas, so I thought I'd make a thread where we can add, compile and try recipes together, giving each other notes and recommendations. Comment below if you have any recipes to share or request Thanks guys!

Proposed format: we post recipes here and you as the OP posts it to post 1 under the relevant category: eg: baking, chinese, indian, Mediterranean, etc?? That way recipes don’t get lost as this thread grows.

I’ll get things going: vegan cheesecake recipe (tried and tested - it is awesome!)
https://minimalistbaker.com/easy-baked-cheesecake-vegan-gf/

Edit: links better than typed out recipes! Typed recipes should be made somewhere like pinterest or some other website and linked to here, to keep it clean.

Sounds like a great idea, I'll keep editing the start of the thread up there ^^ and adding things in. I like the idea of a "chinese" "Mediterranean" section etc., should I put those under "main Courses"? or should I just do away with main courses and sort it by area straight away instead?
:woo: first recipe lol. I'll add that in! (ill defo have to try it out too!)

Edit: yes, link would defo be better. I was thinking for any typed recipes, we could always put it in a spoiler, would that still take up too much space? probably right? :s-smilie:

Edit: omg i just found a vegan biscoff/biscoff spread cheesecake wtf? idk if its any good?? https://www.bakingmad.com/recipes/desserts/cheesecakes/vegan-biscoff-cheesecake

Also, when it says "vegan cream cheese" for the filling, like I never made a cheesecake and have no idea what Im doing, can I use this violife greek cheese? Or is that totally the wrong kind of cheese to use? lol I'm clueless

oh my God, I just tried this french toast recipe and it was to die for. Usually I dont have all the ingredients needed for a recipe, but I had everything for this one alraedy lol (you can use any milk, not just almond, I used soy. And you dont need agave syrup, I just used maple - much cheaper!)
https://minimalistbaker.com/basic-vegan-french-toast/
All I can say is, my bread went soggy and fell apart. I'm going shopping today and I'm going to get some thicc bread to try this with so it doesnt fall apart. Might be my new favourite breakfast!

Vegan cream cheese is actually a thing, it’s not greek - that’s wrong one! It comes out great! Let me knowhow u do! What big supermarkets are near you? I’ll search it and send you a link to correct one. Re: format, that sounds good. Re: spoiler, great idea if someone doesn’t want to put it on pinterest. :woo:

Tbh, I have good bus routes around me, I can find my way to a "big" Sainsburys, Asda, Aldi, Tesco or Lidl. :L Rather not have to get to the latter 2 but hey. I'm sure I've gotten violife vegan cream cheese before... like in a spread form? I'll have to go on an adventure lol

Here’s what you need:
https://groceries.asda.com/product/soft-cheese/asda-free-from-soft-cheese-alternative/1000021353881

https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/all-vegan-products/sainsburys-freefrom-original-dairy-free-soft-cheese-170g

first one i’ve tried and works. Not tried it with sainsbury’s one.

thank you omg, maybe I'll let you know how it goes lol
This isn't a recipe but Creative Nature do vegan baking mixes and their chocolate brownie mix makes amazing brownies! :u: You just need to add dairy free butter and use flaxseeds to replace eggs.

Ooo, I think I've tried that brownie mix before! Would recommend, tastes good even when its out of date   lol Maybe I'll add it as a note in the desserts section anyway :L It's a bit blooming expensive tho iirc (like £5??), so I probably wouldn't get it again. I wonder if an actual full recipe would be cheaper :s-smilie: probably right?

Oh wow, I didn't realise it was that expensive .
I have used this recipe before as well- https://www.sweetestmenu.com/vegan-brownies/
They were soooo good!

omg, if you guys wanted it, I'd totally do it haha.
I just wanted to ask, you know the cheesecake recipe lists "rolled oats"? Do they have to be rolled? Can I just use normal, like porridge oats? haha... rolled ones seem more expensive lol. Thank you oh cheese-cakey one

Ooo, I'll add that recipe in  Funnily enough, I was just doing some online shopping and checking if I had stuff in the cupboard when I saw a bag of the exact brownie mix you're talking about. How funny, didn't even realise I had any :biggrin: lol
Guys, I've just finsihed typing my online shop for this week, and Ive got the ingredients to try:
the cheesecake recipe,
A new chilli recipe I want to attempt https://www.alphafoodie.com/simple-vegan-chili-con-carne/
Some wraps (w/ either the chilli or fish fingers/ltomato/avocado/lettuce mmm)
and my favourite tried and tested tomato soup recipe that's to die for! I have a copy of it in my recipe book but cant find it online. Thinking of adding a pic in a spoiler (or on a pic site then inserting the link).
For now, this is the closest recipe I can find - https://30dayvegan.viva.org.uk/recipe/simple-roast-tomato-soup

Are there any new recipes you guys plan on attempting in the coming days/weeks?

heres how that french toast went: as you can see it just disintegrated in the middle :C was super yummy apart from that (I added more syrup and also some whipped cream ontop lol). I'm desperate to get some sturdier bread to try and make it properly now!

Spoiler

Omg, Ik it looks disgusting but it was delicious, I swear :biggrin:
