a levels maths help

I am doing okay on finding stationary points and In differentiation topics but I tend to struggle on questions that involves a diagram .
What I am trying to say is , I get stuck on questions where a figure is given (such as rectangular tanks, triangular prisms etc ) .
then asks us to show that volume/area is _____ and then asks us to differentiate and find the stationary points.
Maybe it's because I am not that familiar with their formulas .
is there any suggestions on how I can implement on those questions?
how I can improve*

You can solve different questions on that topic and practice those?
Keep practicing...it’s basically the same method for each question. You will catch on to the method once you have completed loads of questions
