Does applying deferred to Cambridge affect my chances

Hi, I’m planning to apply for Asian and Middle Eastern studies at Cambridge with deferred entry for 2022 in order to take a gap year doing an exchange program. To what extent will this affect my chances?

I don't think this will affect your chances at all tbh
I would not see any impact for this subject. Maths is the only subject I know where many colleges frown on applying for deferred entry.
