What qualifies as “Care work experience?”

For applying to nursing school. I know a lot of people either came straight from school or have been Health Care assistants.

What other “care work experience” would help you on your application?

I want to apply in Msc Nursing in September 2021 but Health Care Assistants position at my local hospital is a 16 month placement only, which means I would miss out in September next year.

- nursing/residential home care assistant
- nursery work
- caring for a relative (eg elderly grandparent)

That's just a few off the top of my head. Bit strange that your local hospital only does 16 month HCA contracts.

Yeah I’m really bummed about the 16 month placement. I guess I’ll apply to be a carer at a nursing home and hope that counts as care experience ready for applying next year, thanks!
