What options does someone have if they don’t like their course

Especially during the first month
It depends on the uni and the subject. I would book an appointment with your advisor or support centre to see what the options are. You might be able to change to a related subjected fairly easily. Changing to a completely different subject might be harder but not impossible. They might ask you to take a year out though.

As the prior poster mentioned- it can depend on a number of factors!
Things to consider may be whether you wish to transfer within the same university to a different course or whether you would want to transfer to a different university doing the same course (or maybe you would rather withdraw from your studies).

In the first instance I would recommend speaking to your personal supervisor and your support team about the move and why you would like to transfer- if it is within the same university then they may be able to help you with the process and which internal departments to contact.
