Hey @realRXCH!

If your finance has already been based on your parents income but you decided not to take the full amount then you could probably still change the amount.
however you may not get it in time for the first instalment

I have already got my first instalment. If I wanted to change it for my second and third instalment, how would I do that?

Hi, you can follow this video guide http://ow.ly/gpx530ptOSo to change your Maintenance Loan request online. If it doesn't allow you to change the details then you can complete the Maintenance Loan request form http://ow.ly/d/8nhF - you should allow up to 6 weeks to be re assessed.
Thanks, Isaac

If I change the amount of maintenance loan, will I get more of that loan added to my first instalment? For example, if I asked for £600 and I need to change it to £900, will I get the additional £100 to the already paid £200 or will I get £900 for the next two instalments (£450 for each instalment).

Yes, you will receive a backdated payment if you are owed any money from your first installment, you don't have to wait until your second installment.
