Media industries studies and media production studies, what is the difference?

As the title indicates, I have a very hard time finding what the difference is between these two - according to my professor, David Hesmondhalgh should have written about this. Can anyone help pls? Thanxx
I'm assuming these are degree programmes, and I would then presume that a production studies course would focus on the technical aspects of media production, while the "industry studies" course would focus on the business and management of the media sector.

thank you!! makes good sense
From my very limited knowledge, production is actually MAKING media stuff, so hands on, with equipment etc, and studies is more like studying the theory of it? So little to no actual media making. Not entirely sure tho.
