Unless the guy is happy with polyamory I have to say that the trust will be gone and it's best to move on.

More-so if the cheater did it knowingly.* I.e. they knew they were cheating and that their partner didn't want it/etc, and that there was no liquor or other circumstances involved.

They said they did escort work and they also say cheated which implies they did actually do the sex part of it. In what way is OP not a sex worker?
Nobody is necessarily saying sex work is horrible, if that’s what someone wants to do then have at it, but don’t have a go at us for saying that’s what OP did.

OP he won’t come back to you because that’s the kind of thing he might not be, and clearly isn’t, comfortable with. You need to be more forthcoming in future and be open (in both senses it seems) with your partner.
