Chances of getting an offer to study Law.

I was wondering if anyone wanted to weigh in on how strong an application the think i have, considering my Lnat is in 5 days.
A Level Predictions: A*AA, Politics, history, English and an A* In EPQ
GCSES: 9, 8,7,7,7, 666, 55
Extra Curriculars include being president of the debate society at my College, being a member of Liberty, obviously lots and lots of relevant reading, Yale and Harvard online course completions, being a Scout so Duke of Edinbourough and leading many international expeditions, 4 in total, im also a Lifeguard and an exeptional talker/public speaker, interview skills.

Im applying to study Law at Oxford, Philosophy, Law and Politics at Kings College London, Law and Politics at Manchester, and im unsure of my other two as of now but probably not Lnat Univirseties just in case.

Oxford is a difficult to predict as many more get rejected than accepted, The other 2 you are most likely to get offers. As for non LNAT universities most dont require it. Exeter might be a good option along with places like Birmingham, Southampton, Warwick, Leeds and Sheffield.

Thank you for your reply, I'll definitely look into the other options you suggested

I feel like it went decently well, the essay was definitely strong and i had a lot of time to review the multiple choice questions so hopefully that allowed me to figure out quite a few answers. Thank you for asking

You are a stong candidate for Kings and Manchester but not sure about Oxford - maybe @Oxford Mum can help out with her statistics on Law at Oxford?

Anyway, you seem to have a sensible approach about not putting all your eggs in one basket so I'm sure you will get into a great uni

Yeah i had a similar feeling, might as well apply to Oxford anyways see what happens, but im betting on Kings, besides Kings has the better course in my opinion, Law, Politics and Philosophy sounds way more fun than the basic Jurisprudence counterpart at Oxford
The average Oxford law candidate has 5.2 x 8/9s. The average successful Oxford law offer holders has 8 or 9 x 8/9s.

So I am afraid your chances are not great for Oxford.

More tellingly, you are saying a course at another uni is going to be more “fun”. Which leads me to ask, what on earth is the reason to apply to Oxford in the first place. There will be people who are willing to sell their grannies to get into Oxford law, with stupendous grades and lots of specialised research under their belts.

How are you going to compete?
I'd probably suggest looking at Cambridge for Law rather than Oxford, since Cambridge are much less fussed about GCSEs generally than Oxford, and you meet the entry criteria for Cambridge anyway (unless they've increased it). The other options look good I think.

I think that chance has passed in honesty

Why would you have missed the chance for Cambridge but not Oxford...? They have the same application deadline.

Respectfully, i think you've entirely missed the point, everything that ive put im my post is paraphrased from my PS, everything I've wrpte about has been linked into studying law, studying in general or been used to highlight personal qualities which i have, i obviously didn't write it as i put it in the post. The part about interview skills for example isn't in my statement and just a personal quality of mine. To some extent i think you missed the point of a personal statement, its to be personal and universities including Oxford don't just want someone who is highly academic, though i assure you the vast majority of my PS is about academics, however i feel like that was more than implied and therefore omitted it from my post

You take the CLT at interview if you are invited for interview. You don't need to take any pre-interview admissions assessments, and you don't need to pre-register for the CLT. Some colleges require you to submit written work, but not all, and otherwise you just need to put it down on your UCAS form

You give the CLT only if you’ve been called to interview tho

Oh, then that might actually be a good idea, thank you

That sounds like a good idea based on @Oxford Mums stats. As long as you are sure that you will enjoy the course and wouldn't prefer other Law & Politics or PPL courses like this one at Warwick for example
