Clouded/blurry sight in left eye

My sight has suddenly gone cloudy / blurry in one eye.

Any reasons as to why this has happened?

How do I treat it?
Don't mess with your eyes - seek professional help. Go to see an optician - they are seeing patients now.
When my vision went cloudy/blurry it was a cataract and I ended up having surgery to sort it.

How did you know it was a cataract?

My sight is just clouded so I’m wondering if I have a migraine coming?

Could be anything. Cloudy vision isn't the same as blurred vision though. Speak to your optician, you probably need to book an appointment.

I didn't- my optician suspected it and referred me to a consultant. It was like looking through a window smeared with Vaseline

Mine isn’t that bad! It’s just much blurrier than my other eye :/
Fingers crossed that it is something temporary- my eyesight is poor and I wear contacts so I was very aware when one eye no longer focused properly
Book an eye test asap

You've asked others about it being a migraine, is clouded vision a symptom you normally get before a migraine? Whenever my vision goes before a migraine it's not cloudy, more like everything distorts and goes out of focus, like when you're wearing the wrong prescription glasses, but your symptoms may be different.

Some of the links on this site make me think a trip to a&e may be warranted if this is a new sudden thing out of nowhere.

Check if it is keratoconus and no matter what don't rub your eyes!

See a doctor.

Has your eye prescription changed? Do you get headaches when you are studying something?

Thanks for all the panicked responses😂

My sight is still not 100% but is definitely improving.

I think it was a side effect of dehydration/migraine.

If it’s not improved fully by tomorrow, I will book to see the optician.

It could be anything from just dry eye to more serious things like cataracts or even cancer.
Go to an optician to see if there is something wrong, it won't harm.
Hi! Just an update -

Woke up this morning and my sight is fine in both eyes.

Think it was a small migraine as I didn’t feel well (headache etc)

All fixed now :smile:
Good news.
