Edexcel Mathematics Paper 1 (Pure Mathematics 1)


Date: 7 October 2020
Session: PM
Length: 2h
Marks: 100 (a third of the total A-level)

Paper 1 can cover anything on the Pure Maths part of specification. Earlier versions of the specification included derivatives of inverse trigonometric functions, this has since been replaced with parametric differentiation.

If you want to use old spec resources, there is a content mapping document here. Be aware that the style is different and the old specification does not cover everything.

Afternoon, people should be filtering out any second now!
I found that exam pretty hard. Especially with timing, could barely start the last question. and pretty sure i missed one or two other questions. Need to make up for it with paper 2 and 3
Ahhh i have mixed feelings about that paper. It wasn't super nasty, wasn't super easy either. Up to like Q6 or 7 I found it really easy but then it got harder. That circles question threw me off a bit and the 2nd part of the trig identity question I had no idea what to do. There were some other things I wasn't sure about but yeah those 2 stood out the most
