You can find out more about the course at our next virtual open day on Saturday 31st October where you can watch your course talk, speak to academics from the course, get some helpful advice from our application advisers and chat to current students and other university services such as accommodation. You can register your interest here. In the mean time you can chat to our current students on chat platform to get a feel for student life at Sheffield Hallam, they'll be able to answer any questions you have about the city or the university.

On the open day you will be able to chat directly to our applications team who may be able to give you advice on writing a personal statement for our teaching and education courses specifically and answer any other questions about your application.

You can also post in our official applicant thread or create your own thread in the uni applications forum looking for personal statement tips for teaching and education courses and hopefully some students will come forward to offer their advice.

I was actually really surprised when I went into my first lesson on my Access to HE course. I thought I was going to be surrounded by younger people but the majority of my class is people in their mid to late twenties.
