what happens when a carbohydrate is hydrolysed

can anyone please help with the structure of all the molecules formed when carbohydrate is completely hydrolysed? I would be so grateful xx

It's not a carbohydrate, it's a triglyceride (fat).

When you hydrolyse it, the ester bonds break and you get glycerol + 3 fatty acids.
thank you, really struggling with this topic it just doesn't seem to click x

Try to look over the spec and try to reread your notes or your book
thank you, I've tried everything even watching YouTube videos, most of it I'm getting its just when I have to draw the molecules 😂
@golgiapparatus31 is this correct or am I way off the mark? 20201025_103030-compressed.jpg.jpeg

It's fully correct!

Though I think you could write
triglyceride + 3 H2O -> glycerol + fatty acid 1 + fatty acid 2 + fatty acid 3, instead of writing the fatty acids one on top of the other, so it looks more like a proper chemical equation, but you would get all the marks
perfect thank you
