Heyy,

Do you think sleeping for 5 hours is enough during gcse?I tend to sleep late(00:00-1:00) and wake up around 8 but I’m planning to change my wake up time to 5 am so that I have more time to study. Is it a good idea?

Having less sleep is detrimental in the long run. 8 hours is standard.

Also probably not a good idea to burn yourself out this early in the year.

Thank you! But, by the way I have my igcses in January so would the same conditions apply?

Oh, I thought you were doing standard GCSEs.

Personally I would prioritise sleep over studying, there should be enough time in the day to study without cutting into sleeping hours.

For my GCSEs I started revising the day before and did OK :rofl3:

I definitely wouldn’t advise reducing your sleep. You need to get a good amount of sleep to be able to concentrate properly on your revision.

There is plenty of time in the day to study without sacrificing sleep. With exams in January, I would try to get into a really disciplined routine with your revision now. As you get closer to your exams, you should be looking to minimise time spent on things like socialising and on your phone and maximise your revision time.
