French help

I have a french question In french ear is une oreille but my ear is mon oreille. If ear is femm then why mon oreille why not ma???
French is a euphonic language which means that the grammar sometimes changes to make it sound nicer. It's difficult to go from the 'a' vowel sound 'o' so instead we use the 'mon' form to make it easier and nicer to say.

Ok that’s makes sense so is this always the case for nouns starting with o ??
In French you (usually) can't have two voiced vowels next you one another where one ends a word and another begins the next word. It's for the same reason as le/la goes to l' when there's a vowel
