University Fashion Courses

I’m interested in doing a fashion course at university but the subjects I’m taking at Alevel is photograpgy, English Literature and Sociology, to apply would I need to have done Alevels associated with Fashion such as textiles or could I be accepted without it?

You don’t need an A level like textiles but you will need a portfolio of work that is relevant to fashion. Universities have portfolio guidelines on their websites that give some details about what they’re looking for.

You might want to look at applying for local art & design foundation diploma courses (fad) at local colleges and universities as a backup. These are FE courses so you apply directly outside ucas. That would give you a good backup option and a FAD course is designed to help you build a portfolio and experiment with new media.

Hello!

Depending on where you apply the institution will put more focus on your portfolio than your subjects studies

For example, with us we ask for 96-112 UCAS points that can come from anywhere and the main emphasis is on your portfolio of work and your interview.

We offer 2 Fashion Degrees - Creative Fashion Practice and also Fashion with Body Contour. you can find out more on our website https://northernart.ac.uk/
