I like your dedication to linking each college to a uni

question - is Cambridge guilty of this as well lol ?
Even St Edmund Hall is stolen from St Edmund's Catholic Academy. That's really punching down. Many such cases!
UCL was the original university college...

no the poor cambridge people had all their colleges stolen by the oxfords
Lol neat theory but full of holes. Here's one.

Harris Manchester College, Oxford started as the Warrington Academy in 1757. It was refounded Manchester Academy in Manchester in 1786. Since then it moved around quite a lot until it became a permanent oxford college in the late 1900's and it's name was changed to Harris Manchester, to honor Philip Harris, Baron Harris of Peckham, a notable benefactor of the college.

However, university of Manchester's roots begin in 1824, well after the founding of Manchester Academy in 1786. So if anything, University of Manchester is the one stealing the oxford name to defraud people

no need to imagine. it took 5 mins and 2 google searches (something anyone with half a brain is capable of doing without much effort).

But imagine writing what you wrote for no purpose other than trying to make a stranger feel bad about doing research? LOL

Trying to start a new policy of just ignoring threads.
I note the thread you commented upon about the person withdrawn from college-. I just answered this morning again and it had been removed. Might have answered before as well. Sometimes threads with obvious solutions can have you trapped in answering and going round in circles trying to help where all you get is I cant, wont or impossible i.e they dont want an answer.
Conversely, I think Jesus stole his name from Oxford
