I Don't think it's anywhere near equivalent to a 6
Nah, not a 6

an A in maths AS is probably grade 9+
grade 6 in GCSE = grade D in A level for AS

so 100% the person would be able to get in to a university that says level 6 or equivalent in maths?

What are you trying to get into?
grade 8 GCSE = grade A at AS level

Grade 7 GCSE = grade B/C at AS level

Grade 7 GCSE = grade B/C at AS level

Is that an actual thing??

They would, most universities require grade 6 in maths, a grade 6 in maths shows outstanding achievements

That’s basically a low A grade in the old GCSE system

Nah it’s what I have discovered, it obviously depends on factors but that’s the best way I can put it

Np

Remember that it’s just a rough estimate

I have a friend that got a grade 6 in GCSE maths and is now predicted an A* in the full A level maths

Just sharpen your grade 6 Algebra and you should be fine
I even remember speaking to someone on here that got a grade 5 in GCSE maths

But actually ended up getting an A* at A level as his final grade

So it’s definitely possible

No, of course not - it's fiction

No a grade 6 is an 'old' GCSE grade B

If a university is asking for a grade 6 GCSE you need to contact them if you have something else.

Just above a grade B*

Which = low grade A
