amount of substance

a sample of 2.0 moldm^-3 acid has a volume of 100cm^3
what volume of water in cm3 should be added to this acid to dilute the sample to a concentration of 1.5 moldm^-3
Work out the moles in the original acid, then find the total volume for that many moles to be of a concentration of 1.5M

I didn't do it that way but I using that equation just now I get the same answer as I did, and it's not 50cm3
