LSE Economics Applicants 2021 Entry

Hey, I am applying for BSc Economics 2021!
- A levels: Maths, Economics, Spanish; Predicted A*AA
- GCSEs: 9999888888 and B in Further Maths
- Other unis: UCL (conditional offer), Warwick, Bath (conditional offer), Nottingham (conditional offer)
- Home student

Congrats on the UCL offer! May I ask - does your school offer FM & did you just choose not to take it? I’m yet to receive an offer from UCL (though I’ve got Warwick) which is making me super scared

- A levels: Economics, Maths, Further Maths (3 A*s having been 2 A*s and A in Further Maths on results day) + A* 50/50 on EPQ
- GCSEs: 12 A*s (5 9s, 6 A*s and A^ in FM)
- Other unis: Cambridge (Selwyn), Durham (St Mary's) (unconditional offer), UCL (unconditional offer)

Does anyone know if anyone has heard from LSE yet for Economics? Last year the first batch was on 8th December but I've not seen any this year yet. That said, UCL normally gives out their first offers for Economics in November but this year the first batch (which seemed fairly big tbf considering UCL has only a 38% offer rate for Econ) was on the 2nd December.

I know Cambridge has had over 1500 applicants for its 156 spaces this year (up 30% on two years ago) and I suppose LSE will have seen a similar increase. Since LSE has a 17% offer rate and 8% acceptance for Econ in previous years I guess it will have to be thinking carefully about decisions anyway.

- International student currently doing A-Level in UK

I haven't heard from UCL, Warwick or LSE yet. I qualify as International student currently doing A-Level in UK. Will they give offers to UK citizens first and then to International applicants? I am also worried that they would look into personal statement and mine was decent, I won't say it was one of the best.

When did you apply? Warwick did home students first, then did internationals who had applied in Sept by the looks of it. My friend who is an international who applied in Oct got his offer a month after me (an international who applied in Sept)

hey, same here, our background and the uni applied to are really similar. I haven't heard anything from ucl, Warwick or lse too!

i'm an international applicant too x my predicted grades are A*A*A*A (Maths, Economics, Chemistry, Further Maths) + A* (EPQ) and my GCSEs were 9999999A*AA. i've heard from Warwick, though am yet to hear anything from ucl or lse

yea that's weird I've heard from UCL but nothing from Warwick yet my grades were not as good as yours. However, UCL and LSE are very dependent on your personal statement whereas Warwick has said that you have at least 3A* predictions you're basically guaranteed an offer
