if youre talking about parabolas then they are both similar or the same if im not mistaken

i do believe to find the turning point its the half way point between the two roots

eg.

x^2 - 5x + 4

(x - 1) (x - 4)

the roots are (1,0) (4,0)

so the turning point would be 1+4/2 which is (5/2) for the x coordinate
and then sub it back into the orginal equation to find y

(5/2)^2 - (5 x 5/2) +4 = -9/4

turning point: (5/2, -9/4)

line of symmetry is x= 5/2

does what i said make sense i tried to make it as simplified as possible 😩

For a quadratic, yes. For higher orders, no.

i really wanted to take physics but everyone advised me against it :/

i really love physics i was lowkey also kinda worried since i suck at math i would struggle

how do you find physics?

chem and bio Classic

yep! i took chem cos i like it and bio becos nothing else in the option block appealed to me and math becos it seems to lead to a lot of good career oppurtunites and same with businesss its really practical
i find physics quite enjoyable (man why do i sound like a geek) - as in once you understand it, you feel like ahh thats how it works then...

and then its just a bunch of numbers and formulas, its also useful that we get like a 10 page formulae book so dont need to remember that many equations and stuff either.. but yeaah

impressed by chem though, no chance for me, sorry :/ how are you managing?

no no, I'm a "geek" here too love science a lot so I kinda mad i didn't take it

oh after physics it's defo chem for me. it's not as interesting as physics buts it's nice because all the concepts build off of each other so it kinda gets progressively harder as you go along in a smooth way if that makes any sense at all..?

MATH, however, is making me so sad just can't seem to get the hang of think on the road for a D tbh

what are you looking to do in uni?
yeah, it makes total sense, as in its easy to understand, but as we progress into more difficult concepts, it seemingly gets more tricky, not that its difficult, but that there is more content and information to remember.

what year r u in btw - forgot to ask

also noo man dont say that for math - ill help u!! its really not difficult
when i struggled with a topic for maths, i used

https://www.examsolutions.net/

And it really helps! dont give up , you can do it, believe me

for uni i probably want something to do with computing, but im not sure yet. Although i did not do Computer Science for GCSE, i want to pursue it, because when you revise and manage your time effectively, there is nothing to fear 🦸

yes, exactly!!

I am in year 12 wbyy?

thank you so much I'm gonna get started on my revision soon as I'm pretty sure I have mocks again pretty sooooon.

hahaha you sound like my math teacher I always email him begging him to let me drop math and he sends me lots of uplifting quotes, they are actually quite encouraging

yeah oh my god, I took ICT for a week in GCSE before I dropped it, I know it's not the same but it's such an impressive skill to have. whereabouts do you wanna study?
