what do you mean? I get an overall quadratic equation of 4.9t^2+5-5

Check the "u" part in your suvat equation. Then you have a quadratic equation, so solve it.

Check the u part. Maybe pause/reflect a couple of minutes before replying?
Then you've missed the = 0 as it's an equation. Then solve.

I don't know what you are trying to say...what do you mean to check on in the initial velocity if it's already given
