Hi, I am wanting to study at LJM in 2021, the accommodation process opens up in a week and I have no idea which places are the best from a students perspective! If anyone is able to give me advice it would be much appreciated. Thank You

Thank you sm, I haven't looked into Grenville so I definitely will ! Grand Central does seem like a safe bet im just not sure if it will be too loud be right next to Lime Street as I love sleep.

Hi, I’m hopefully starting in September at the city campus and wondered what would be good for first year. I want to be able to party and close to the centre. I want to be able to mix with people at the city campus and not just IM and uni of x

Although some halls do have a reputation of being louder than others, wanting to be close to the centre for example doesn't narrow your options down really because they all are central, have first years and have a mix of students from different unis
In terms of "partying" reputations (which i wouldnt rely on that heavily as now for example due to covid, no parties should be taking place and also generally it just depends on the year and which flatmates youre put with/near so theres no guarantees) you're probably looking at the likes of grand central, atlantic point and europa to name a few

What is Byron point and horizon heights like? I have been looking at them..

I lovee byrom point! Would highly recommend but its a really quiet (which i liked) accomodation. I definitely wouldnt say its a party type accomodation at all imo
Horizon heights is alright. I prefer byrom to it personally, but there are definitely worse places. Id probably rank it mid-way in terms of halls choices personally. Its one of the newer modern ones (but so it byrom tbf). Its definitely a more social accommodation then byrom is though

grand centrals studios are big and cheap, although they are not as modern but i still found it ok for me. Although they are sort of on their own and you wont have flatmates. I stayed in a studio in Ablett house, more expensive but more modern (not necessarily a better room), but you then have flat mates and a shared kitchen also which is good

but im trying to choose between byrom point and grand central studios. byrom's are a bit more expensive but idk if its because they're better or because they're closer to campus or something. so do you think it is better to go with byrom or risk it and go to grand central?

It depends which uni you are / which course your doing if your at LJMU , byrom point is right beside the byrom street building for LJMU which is mainly sciences, but grand central is closer to UoL and other LJMU buildings. Although, both are very central and 5 mins away from each other
