First I've heard of it, and I was always on the lookout for that kind of insanity.

"They" would likely be the media consultants who realised that your average target Leave voter would rather have Poles than Pakistanis.

Media consultants for whom?

Like it wasn't a one off press stunt, though even if it were, it got national press, hardly like it was kept quiet.

Were you following The Daily Mail or The Express...?

A working class person living in an area of social depravation and high unemployment who willingly votes Tory solely in order to enable Brexit, which will clearly impact negatively on their lives? I think "idiot" is being kind!

And given that it is a reasonable, evidence-based argument, it doesn't really qualify as "bigotry" - although I know how keen you are to use the term as a means of trying to shut down anyone whose opinion you disagree with (bear with me, I'm just fitting a new spring).

Pmsl!

Oh yes, I remember your idea to make the unemployed relocate to do the low-paid jobs no one wants to do.

No... sigh... the conversation was revolving around farming and rural jobs.

*cough*labour camps*cough*

Now you join your Thatcherite mate again making wild things up. Happy days

Oh I remember that thread! Vintage that was. When in doubt, shove the unemployed into labour camps. I mean, that coming from me would be one thing, but coming from a supposed Labour member, and pied piper of the poor is another.

Champion, so let look at your contribution to the thread;

1) enters in with a inflammatory off topic comment
2) cry about moderation
3) cry about getting a warning for insulting someone
4) cry and imply I'm reporting you
5) admit you are virtually stalking me
6) insult me and accuse me of several things you know to be false
7) make some on topic debate and get beaten, then return to nonsense you know to be inaccurate like some wilfully misinterpreted conversation about slave camps.

Why bother? If you carry on in life like this when you grow up nobody will take you seriously, you can get away with it while your young but eventually....

Great stuff.

Let’s look at your contribution to this thread.

1) Be completely out of touch with the Scottish electorate.
2) Think you know best and every other opinion is wrong which pretty much kills debate.

Please note: point number 2 occurs on every thread you join.

1) I dont believe pointing out factual information about the Scottish electorate like many no viters are SNP voters is a sign of me being out of touch. Of course you are welcome to debate the on topic points with me about the Scottish electorate. I wish you would just stick to topic if I'm honest.
2) You have just bust QE2's spring!

I not replying to you anymore on this thread as I'm obviously being trolled.

Except in your first point, there might be many no voters to independence, but absolutely not as many as those who want to leave. And as you fully well know, through your absolute love of democracy, that's how it works. You weren't crying about the 48% of remain voters, were you? By your own logic in regards to Brexit, those no voters to Scottish independence should just suck it up and see, right?

Better post so I'll reply. Theres is a huge difference between crying and speaking out for what you believe in.

It remains to be seen if the Scots do want independence or not, I don't think they will opt for it when thet get indyref2. I don't think you have read my points on this topic, I'm all for allowing a second referendum on Scottish independence but on the provision its it's legally binding. I'm not repeating myself again, read what I think should happen. It wont like but hey ho.

I don't think the Scottish issue is as simple as yes voters should suck it up, I think too much water has passed for that.

Twenty polls in a row. Twenty. All pretty convincing as well. The SNP will get their mandate in May, and when they do, and she puts it to the people, they’ll vote for independence, I absolutely guarantee it.

Time will tell, let's see. I think the SNP will do well in May.

They will, which will give them a mandate for a vote that our supreme leader will have absolutely no say in, she can hold it whenever and however she wants, and he can’t do a thing.

its unlikely she can have a meaningful referendum without the support of Westminster.

The Tories and labour will abstain, she will hold one though. Thats why my idea is better, gift her what she wants but at the price

This is an interesting debate. Out of curiosity, is there any other Scots on this thread? I for one am wholly opposed to independence and always have been but I know I'm in the minority. Firstly, I love being British, not just Scottish. I feel I am part of something larger and I also just think the UK is a great country- I fundamentally believe Scotland is so much better off as a part of it. Scotland is too small a country to have any significance on the world stage, and the statement of the SNP that Scotland could just rejoin the EU to me seems ludicrous. Secondly, I have always felt the SNP's arguments are rather simplistic- Nicola Sturgeon's entire rhetoric always seems to be based around one-upping England and the idea that all of Scotland's problems would be solved by getting away from England. But my problems with the SNP don't stop there. For one, everything they do seems related to getting independence, despite the fact that we have already had a 'once in a generation' referendum (something that is, to me, right up there with people trying to get a second EU referendum). Also, it seems to me that they fail to see that they are centralising power in Scotland, ironic since what they want is to get away from centralised power in Westminster. The SNP's tactics also bother me. For example, a wee while back they released a document for schools about the history of Scotland, one that was blatantly structured around portraying Scots as victims of English control. Also, during the 2014 referendum campaign, an abashedly partisan document was produced by the politically-neutral civil service detailing the vision of an independent Scotland. More recently, the SNP have been systematically rewriting their own history in trying to distance themselves from Alex Salmond and removing him from their official history on their website. All quite worrying if you ask me.

Getting involved in their partisan condensemding personal attacks, isn't conducive to mature meaningful discussions. It might get you a rep but bar that, it's pretty pointless.

There will be an election in mayScreenshot_20210127-073631_Google.jpg

Denying this or saying there isn't is akin to saying I belive in forced labour slave camps or complaining about getting a warning for breaking forum rules then continuing to break them!! Then naybe accusing me of not being a real socialist because I respect JRM because any Socialist could not possibly respect a Hard right Thatcherite, however, at the same time pointing any remote irony in any posts bar a hard right Thatcherite who they have developed a (ironically) online friendship with whom actually does believe in forced labour, thinks democratic socialists are halfwit's and victim blames anyone who is poor!

Imlikeahermit pointed out there will be a election in may above, hes possibly not corrected you because he seems to of only entered this thread to personally attack me and join his democratic socialist friend QE2. Which I'm assuming @imlikeahermit is making an exception for @QE2 supposed left wing, high taxation, pro human rights policies are not "barnpot **** like that?" Either that or hes never saw QE2 wxpress these ideals... mmm I wonder

Cognitive dissonance at its finest.

I’m sorry that me expressing my views on Scottish independence is a personal attack on you. :borat:
