Congrats on getting into Cambridge, you should be SO proud!!

I'm a Scottish applicant, so if I got offers from either Edinburgh or St Andrews they would be unconditional. St Andrews is my first choice out of the two, but if I get rejected from there Edinburgh is my second option. If all goes to **** and I get rejected from Edinburgh as well I would put down Bristol as my firm (they gave me an offer based on me getting 2As), and Exeter would be my insurance (they gave me an unconditional offer).

What course have you applied for?

Thanks! It's frustrating because I'm definitely not going to go to Birmingham (I want to go to somewhere that's not my hometown haha) and I'm planning on firming Nottingham!

I'm really interested in the reformation but we don't really do it for a-level. We're doing like Russian rev, French rev and 20th century Britain. What ru most interested in?

I love royal history, ancient history, the Salem witch trials, and the history of art.

For my advanced higher I chose to specialise in South African history between 1902-1984. It's not my favourite but I've got a great teacher which really helps!

If you don't mind sharing, what are your stats?

wow they sound fascinating - I really love ancient history too, I just found this amazing biography of Boudica that goes really into depth about the Roman's perceptions of the British and powerful women.
By stats do u mean exam results?

Yes, I mean exam results. It'd be fascinating to know what I'm up against considering we have both applied to Edinburgh lol

That's so funny! Right now in my classics class we are learning about Boudica, I want to feel bad for her but at the same time I just can't. I mean she literally beheaded babies!

I don’t think so so that’s why it’s frustrating especially because I wanna get accommodation sorted out ASAP and to do that I need to firm Nottingham 😂

yeah I mean that was a bit problematic but the Romans totally went back on her husband's will and then raped and flogged her and her daughters.
How do highers and advanced highers work btw? Like what year do you take all the exams - is it the penultimate year to leaving school?

agh yeah I kinda thought that was how it worked - that's pretty annoying. You could always withdraw your application to Birmingham if ur sure u don't want to go there?
