Hey! Is it possible for you to share the outline content of the invitation email? I also applied on the same day but haven't heard anything back until now. Is there any guide or anything important to know about the interview?

Thanks,

No guide or anything of the sort. Just the date, time, and the name of the interviewer.

I also found an old topic about the interview. Seems like there is no such thing as admissions test anymore. Just behavioral questions.

There is no admissions test, but interview includes both, behavioral and technical questions. So if you get invited, prepare well.

Just had my interview.
Any one else who has been invited for an interview? I cannot see many people who have been invited this year?????

Wow, how did it go? did they ask you any technical questions, if yes what kind of topics came up?
Congrats on getting an interview!

Had a 3 days notice before my interview.
Yeah.
Thanks

Congrats. I hope you get an offer soon. Can't wait for my interview invitation email.

Btw, what kind of technical questions you got? Math, Data Structure?

Didn't get any technical questions really. They were based on my projects. Overall, I was just asked generic questions, nothing technical.

Thank you! The interview is this coming Monday. I am planning to go through the topics you listed, as well as the topics I mentioned in my SOP.

Hi! I guess you had your interview yesterday, how did it go? What kind of questions were you asked? Any technical topics involved?

Have you heard about an interview? I've still not heard anything!

No, I haven't heard anything yet. I guess (judging from previous years timeline) that if we don't get an invitation by the end of this week, then it is a rejection.

Ah I hope not! :frown: Where have you got that information from? I found a blog from somebody who applied last year who didn't hear about interviews until around 6th March but then started freaking out when I saw people on here starting to hear!

Well, I don't know the exact timeline for this year, but the deadline was a week earlier this year (8th of January vs 15th of Jan last year). Also if you go to GradCafe website, you will see that most of the people last year had their interviews on last 2 weeks of February. Of course, it doesn't mean anything for this year, I am not sure if there is a strict deadline for interviews, but I am sort of preparing myself mentally for a rejection now.
I hope I am wrong.

It went pretty badly, the interview consisted almost entirely of technical questions (mostly mathematical). I had almost no sleep because of the stress and therefore could not really think and answer the questions properly...

If you don't mind me asking what was the maths they were asking about?
Looks like someone got an interview offer yesterday so there's still hope for those of us who haven't heard back. Getting a bit worried but I suppose there's nothing we can do but wait

Sorry to hear this. Were the technical questions related to whatever field you want to specialise in, or were they just random mathematics?

It was random mathematics.
Still haven't received interview request. Probably rejected. RIP me.

Same with me :’(
same here.
Acceptances are coming out on The Grad Cafe. It looks like interview is not a prerequisite of acceptance. Unfortunately I did not receive an offer yet so probably means reject. Good luck to you all!

Yes, I have just checked GradCafe. To be honest this is very unusual, I thought an interview is a mandatory step, and that is how it always was. I have never heard of anyone getting admitted to this program without having an interview first. Maybe something changed this year. Usually even very strong candidates get interviewed.

I haven't received anything as of yet too. So good luck to everyone! And congrats to those who get accepted!
