Why do people ghost?

Why would you want to do this? Why not tell the person you don't like them!
Sometimes, they ghost people to see if they actually care or even bother to text first for once.
3) Rejecting someone is uncomfortable and they don't wanna feel uncomfortable. They also don't give a **** about how you feel.

In other words, move on fast and don't think about them cuz they sure as hell don't.

They’re simply trying to avoid the above mentioned uncomfortable situations. Ghosting is a much easier way to deal with them.
Same reason they misuse the anon feature really.

It's important however to note that I wanna avoid confrontation too but I feel the right thing to do is to tell the other person how you feel about them. I can't talk to someone for months and then ghost them out of nowhere and not think about how they might feel about this. So it's not merely confrontation avoidance. These people are self-obsessed. It helps to think like this when you try to move on (it's also true regardless of feelings). Ghosting makes it easier for you to move on as well.
