Which exam board are you taking?

This is where you can chat to others students taking your subject as you prepare for any assessments or grading that your teachers will be setting you over the next few months.

What can I do in these groups?

Almost anything! If you need help with a certain topic, want to rant about something you are struggling with or just want to support students struggling, this is the place for you. We want these to be a useful place for everyone no matter what you're looking for! :smile:

What can't I do in these groups?

Asking or offering copyright papers is against our site rules, and so is taking conversation off-site to do these things. Any posts doing this will be removed. That's the only rule :naughty:

Hi there I was just wondering how your schools are continuing with the coursework and exam element now that were all back in school , my school is basically saying coursework needs to be completed or we will mark you down/ loose marks. And their just gonna give us an exam as normal as they said we have covered all the theory content but we haven’t. So I’m am just wondering if anyone is in the same position as me. As I think they are going against what the government has said, which for the coursework is not to penalise anyone who has not finished NEA due to COVID disruption... My teacher is saying that they are waiting on the exam boards to release information so they aren’t telling us anything, I know they don’t know much information and want to wait on guidance, but putting pressure on us to finish the course work is not the way to go I am doing edexcel A level.

Unfortunately to know for sure we will have to wait for this guidance from exam boards. I believe that the official guidance was that you shouldn't penalise anyone for not finishing NEA due to covid disruption BUT I guess the school are trying to cover all angles just to make sure they have as much full evidence as possible for each student?

It's a really difficult time for everyone involved, hopefully we will know more very soon when we can see this guidance. I will make sure to check back in here if I spot anything that specifically speaks to your situation.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me some information on a few different topics?

1) Evolution of packaging
2) Applying advertisement onto vans and cars - methods and techniques
3) Inclusive design for showers

I know these areas are quite basic but the AQA A-Level textbook was quite basic/generalised I found..... I am hoping you can help.

Hello,

I have my dt exam soon and I’ve been trying some practice exam questions but I am stuck on how to answer this particular one it’s a evaluate question and is 9 marks is from the edexcel website, it’s about circular economy, I can’t find anything in the textbooks I have on circular economy and only have a few notes from class.

evaluate the use of the circular economy with reference to suppliers and consumers:

I’m not even sure how you are supposed to answer an evaluate question either never done one before.

Hopefully someone can help even ifs it just on how to answer an evaluate question In general.

Also wondering if anyone else is doing an exam in dt. My teachers have said that this exam I will be sitting soon made from additional assessment questions will be 50% of my final grade, I don’t think this is very fair, just wondering what your opinions might be on this and/ or if this is something your teachers are also doing.
