The food is kind of a blend of Italian and Balkan dishes! We have a lot of pasta, dumplings, also sausages also flatbreads that are really similar to focaccia. There's a lot of overlap with neighbouring countries so it's quite an interesting cuisine hahaOriginal post by jenerous

Well apart from Slovenia, I suppose Croatia as it's the most similar (also Catholic, similar language and foods). I don't dislike any, although the Serbian government can be rather antagonistic. We didn't 'duck' out of any wars, we're our own country and the first to declare independence from Yugoslavia
The Yugoslav wars were mostly on ethnic grounds, Slovenia did/does not have an interest in acquiring other territory as our people all live in our borders, unlike Croats or Serbs who also live in Bosnia...Original post by Slovenian
