Maths, Economics, English Lit+ Further Maths for Economics At Uni

Would this be a suitable set of a-level subjects for economics at uni. Many people seem to take physics, but I enjoyed both economics and english-lit at school, quite a lot. Would taking physics instead of english-lit be more useful ?

Whether it is useful or not will depend on what you want to do and what you want to study.

The most math heavy courses will ask for further maths, so having economics or physics will help you get a place at top universities for economics or physics. Some unis just want the maths and further maths, so you could in principle get away with doing physics, maths, and further maths, and still get into physics and economics.

If you are just doing English Lit as a filler, then if you get higher grades in it than physics, you're better off with English Lit. If you want to study English Lit at uni, then the A Level is essential, but you could easily have 2 random A Levels. It would look weird having math heavy subjects but then do English Lit though (it shouldn't work against you though).

If you just want to do economics, then economics, maths, and further maths would be your main ones (maths being more or less essential, and further maths critical for high end uni). Whether you do physics or English lit makes no difference to the uni.
Physics is more compatible with maths and further maths though, so that's the other thing you might want to bear in mind regarding performance.
