Friends at Uni

This year has been incredibly hard for everyone. Before 2020, you'd have gone on nights out or other socialising with your cohort. With the pandemic it's been hard for everyone. S

You're absolutely not doing anything wrong at all so please don't think that 😊

Once everywhere starts opening properly you'll be able to get out and meet people and make more friends. Also, don't wait for an invitation, be the instigator and invite people out or approach them. Take control. I'm sure you'll make lots of friends when we get some sense of normality back. 😊 Good luck.

I’m a first year student at Liverpool and the academic year is nearly over and I have made no friends here and it’s really worrying me.

Should I be worried?

Am I doing something wrong? If so anyone got any tips?

I wouldn’t be worried, it’s been harder to make friends during the pandemic ! However I’m sure there are other people in the same boat who are looking to meet people. I highly recommend joining a society to meet people with similar interests to you ! Have a look for volunteering opportunities, part time jobs or events (even if they are online) it may still be a way to meet new people. As things open up you might have more opportunities to meet people so that’s good to know. And from my experience I was never done meeting new people throughout the years at university !
